Our newest Current Featured Artist is Sage. Some of you that have been around the fandom for a while will remember that Sage and Nikki Reed are good friends, so it comes as no surprise that Nikki has directed a music video for her. The video will debute at a Sage concert in Los Angeles on July 26th. Get to know more about Sage and find out the details about the concert here.

The film doesn’t appear to have a release date yet, but here’s MTV’s synopsis of the film:

It follows a menial fast food worker named Joe (the appropriately gawky DJ Qualls … remember him from “Road Trip”?), who meets Nikki’s Stefanie, a feisty young woman who catches Joe on a bad day — a very bad day.

After being tormented by his d-bag boss, played by William Sadler (aka the sheriff from “Roswell!”), Joe cracks and kidnaps Stefanie at gunpoint after she rebuffs his advances. Stefanie becomes more and more desperate as she tries to escape her inept kidnapper.

Twilight girls in Vanity Fair

For anyone who may still be wondering if Nikki Reed has a Facebook or Twitter, she says in this video that she doesn't have any of them. Not even a Myspace. She only uses ivideo with her brother. The interviewer kind of sucks in this video and needs to get a better day job, but I like the behind the scenes footage in this, they all look so beautiful. I haven't really seen many videos with Julia Jones, but she is so down to earth.

Twilight's Nikki Reed Joins Staples and DoSomething.org to Promote the 3rd Annual Staples/Do Something 101 National School Supply Drive

Led by Teens Nationwide, the Do Something 101 Campaign Provides Back-to-School Products to Students in Need

NEW YORK & FRAMINGHAM, Mass., May 19, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --DoSomething.org and Staples (Nasdaq: SPLS) are teaming up with actress and screenwriter, Nikki Reed, for the 3rd Annual National Staples/Do Something 101 School Supply Drive (www.dosomething101.org).

Nikki, star of this summer's upcoming blockbuster film Twilight: Eclipse, is encouraging teens to make a difference this summer by collecting school supplies and dropping them off at their local Staples store from July 4 through September 18. In addition, Staples customers will be able to get involved by donating $1 at any Staples store, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting local students in need. Each Staples store will be matched to a local educational not-for-profit organization serving local youth, and DoSomething.org and Staples will ensure that all the donations get to these partners just in time for the new school year.

"Do Something 101 has done an amazing job in its first two years, and I'm dedicated to making the 2010 campaign the best yet," said Nikki Reed. "Every donated pencil, notebook and other supplies add up to make a big difference in improving education."

During the first two Do Something 101 school supply drives, Staples and DoSomething.org, with the help from celebrity supporters Jordin Sparks and Ciara, raised more than $750,000. To build on this success and help kick off the 2010 campaign, Nikki is starring in a public service announcement (PSA) that will air on television and radio stations nationwide, starting in July. Staples will also donate more than $125,000 worth of school supplies to the program.

"Since 2008, Do Something 101 has inspired teens and Staples customers to help students in need who cannot afford basic school supplies," said Jevin Eagle, executive vice president of merchandising and marketing at Staples. "Staples is committed to making a difference in the community, and we hope to continue to build awareness for Do Something 101 to help hundreds of thousands of students succeed in school."

Teens who want to get involved can go to www.DoSomething101.org for ideas on how to run local school supply drives and to sign up for an action kit. Whether holding a school supply drive at summer camp, during a summer sports league, or at a neighborhood block party, DoSomething.org and Staples offer tips, resources, and flyers for how to get started and make the most of every teen's summer.

"DoSomething.org empowers teens to take action in their communities," said Nancy Lublin, CEO and Chief Old Person at DoSomething.org. "Staples has been a fantastic supporter for the past several years and we're thrilled to continue the relationship, and the Do Something 101 campaign, to provide young people with even more opportunities to rock social change with their friends this summer."

To further demonstrate support for DoSomething.org, new for 2010, Staples is launching a line of DoSomething.org-inspired products that students can use to keep organized and learn about important issues impacting their communities. These products will be available at Staples retail stores by July 4 and will direct students to www.dosomething101.org/staples, a dedicated microsite with additional information and suggestions to help students take action in their communities.

New Eclipse Banner: The Cullens

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Nikki Reed is not afraid of being unconventional. After all, she broke into the business as a 14-year-old screenwriter-turned actress when she wrote and starred in the coming-of-age drama Thirteen. Since then, Reed has continued to impress critics through sexually-charged and equally controversial roles in films like Lords of Dogtown and Mini’s First Time. Never one to be typecast, however, Reed’s latest work involves a little less skin and a little more teeth. Reed plays Rosalie Hale, a beautiful but tragically cursed vampire in the much-loved film saga Twilight. With the film’s next installment Eclipse set for release June 30, we caught up with the star at the W Hollywood to get an inside peek into the film and her life behind the scenes.

SNMag: What can you tell us about the new movie, Eclipse?

Nikki Reed: It’s full of action, as you can see from the trailers. You really get a glimpse at what it was like for us before we were vampires and how we made the journey. It’s a lot more visually intense.

SNMag: How did you prepare for the filming?

NR: We were in stunt, personal and fight training all the time. I felt like a professional athlete. I felt like all I did was train. They had to make sure our bodies were in good physical shape because we did a lot of our own stunts. There were weeks when I would work Monday through Saturday.

SNMag: What was the coolest stunt you got to do yourself?

NR: Running on steep 30 foot treadmills with harnesses on and jumping while running at 10.0 on the treadmill and ducking through branches and being on the back of tow trucks, being pulled at 100 miles an hour.

SNMag: We get to learn a bit more about Rosalie’s back story in Eclipse. What is like playing a character that is said to be so incredibly beautiful?

NR: It opened up all these questions about what beauty is. It really stressed me out for a long time. It made me more aware of my insecurity. I eventually had to just be ok with what it is — that is that everyone’s beautiful and we’re all beautiful in a different way. There’s no single person on the planet, not Monica Bellucci or Adriana Lima, that is universally the most beautiful person.

SNMag: What initially drew you to the character of Rosalie?

NR: I liked how honest she was. I liked how she was unwilling to stray from what she believed in and she would fight and speak her mind regardless of how controversial it was.

SNMag: Did you have any idea how crazy the fan following for Twilight would be like when you signed on?

NR: No, not at all. We had no idea. When we signed onto the series, it was a passionate and exclusive group. The hype combined with making the movie made this an explosion. It was bizarre. There’s definitely no formula for it.

SNMag: What has been your craziest fan encounter?

NR: It doesn’t get as crazy for me, but I think that I am careful about which situations I put myself in. I don’t go out a lot and I don’t expose myself to it. There have been moments during shooting where there’s a group of 50 people that have been waiting for 10 hours and you end up feeling as a human being that it’s so undeserved. It just feels like, “Really? You’re waiting for me? That can’t be.” I almost want to see the fans so I can say, “You see, I’m not special at all.”

SNMag: What do you think about the Rob Pattinson craze?

NR: I get it. Rob is a totally fascinating, amazing, wonderful guy. I get why all these girls are so in love with him. He’s super intelligent, mysterious, musical and intellectual. I get it.

SNMag: Do you get along well with all the other cast? Is there anyone you especially get along with?

NR: It depends on where we’re at in our lives. We all get along really well but on this last movie, it just so happened that Elizabeth [Reaser] and I were living literally two steps away from each other. When you came out of my door and took a hard left you were in her room. When I quit smoking that changed who I hung out with in our cast because I got really active and into working out and Elizabeth and Kellan [Lutz] are really active. There was a time when I wanted to sit and smoke cigarettes and play guitar and sing.

SNMag: How do you guys spend your free time when you’re shooting?

NR: We get creative and make silly mini movies and do awesome stuff like that. Other times we just lay around and watch television. There are a lot of music nights because Xavier [Samuel], Rob and Jackson [Rathbone] are very musical. We eat a lot of Thai food. There’s a Thai food place close by. We hang out with each other because we’re very isolated.

SNMag: Is it grueling to shoot these movies back to back?

NR: We can’t really age so we have to knock them out. It’s nice to have a job. I don’t think any actor necessarily complains about having their next job lined up.

SNMag: What is the coolest experience to come out of being associated with a franchise like Twilight?

NR: It’s cool being seen in a different light. I look so different and the entire world sees that I can do that; that I can play someone different and make it believable…hopefully.

SNMag: You broke into acting in a pretty unconventional way. How did you decide to write the screenplay for Thirteen at such a young age?

NR: It was a very unconventional situation. There was no plan. I wasn’t a crazy teenager that was like, “I want to be a screenwriter.” I just do a lot of writing for myself, and I was a precocious child and liked to express my feelings all the time. I was writing about my family and my life and what was going on. Catherine Hardwicke, who dated my father when I was a kid, said, “What if we write this movie?” And we got it made.

SNMag: Do you write screen-plays now?

NR: I’ve continued to write. It’s just one of those things where there’s no formula for making a successful franchise. There’s also no formula for making a different type of phenomenon like Thirteen because the timing was right and the stars were aligned. At one time or another that movie was shocking and eye opening but now with reality TV shows it’s different. I have

written a number of screenplays and I continue to explore that avenue. With everything that’s been going on, I haven’t been as focused as I’d like to in my late teenage years and early 20s.

SNMag: Do you feel that your tumultuous upbringing helped you cope in crazy Hollywood?

NR: No, not really. I get people and I know what’s going on. I’m not afraid to say what I feel. I think that’s helped me in my career, but it’s also hurt me a lot. People don’t know how to receive that. I’m a young woman who is articulate and speaks her mind. It’s who I am. I was never silenced by either of my parents.

SNMag: When you’re not working, what is your favorite way to spend a Saturday night?

NR: I like to cook. I’m not the best cook in the world, but it makes me happy and I’m good at following recipes. I travel a lot. I’ve spent the last few years in Australia, Africa, Switzerland. I’m going to go to Brazil soon.

As MTV News continues its look back at the year in movies, honoring everyone and everything from Ryan Reynolds to "Watchmen," we know that for so many of you out there, 2009 was all about two simple words: "New Moon"

Throughout the year, as we chatted with the vampire franchise's stars, we wanted to give fans a chance to interact with them too. That's why we asked the actors reader-submitted questions every chance we got. Here are our picks for the best of our "Twilight" fan Q&As.
Robert Pattinson On Being A Different Person

What would one of the biggest stars in the world do if he weren't one of the biggest stars in the world? According to Robert Pattinson, not a whole lot, and it'd be glorious.

"I guess I'd just wander around," he said in response to that question.

Why? He experienced what it would be like to be unknown while traveling in Japan recently, and he'd quite like to experience it again. "I was just wandering around on the streets, and no one recognized me, which was strange, because I was the only non-Japanese person walking around," he said. "Now in airports I'm so nervous walking around in every other country in the world. In Japan, it was so strange, buying all these trinkets because I wanted to get everybody presents when I was coming back, and just being in any old duty-free shops in the airport and no one's looking around. No one comes up to you. I guess I'd just wander around."

Nikki Reed On Fan Sites And Hurt Feelings

Does the "Twilight" crew ever check out any of the fan sites that have proliferated on the Web? That's what one reader wanted to know, and the answer is yes. What's more, what they find on there can sometimes leave them feeling hurt.

"There was an interview where somebody asked me how I was feeling at that moment with everything that was going on with 'Twilight,' " Nikki Reed told us, "and I said, 'You know? I'm really devastated right now, because I have never heard the amount of criticism and hurt and pain from some things that I've read going on the Internet [about me] right now, like, 'She's fat' and 'She's ugly' and 'She's not blonde' and 'She's supposed to be the most beautiful girl in the world?' and 'Couldn't they cast someone who was remotely beautiful?' "

Thankfully, another fan site came to her rescue: The folks at TwilightMoms made her a book of complimentary letters received from around the world. "It couldn't have been a better ego boost," Reed said.

Kellan Lutz On Underwear And Charity Work

Let's be honest, with all the promotional stops "Twilight" stars have to make, they get asked the same question over and over again. But is there a favorite one? And is there one any of them truly dislike? A fan wanted to know, and Kellan Lutz kicked the knowledge.

"Do I wear boxers or briefs?" he said, summoning up a question he gets asked too often and with which he doesn't quite feel comfortable. "I think it's such a funny one, and there's always someone — and they're usually older than 50 — who asks that question, so it's really quite funny."

And what question does he wish he were asked more often? "I'm really into charity work and telling people about that. It's always hard to get to that answer [during an interview]. Royal Family Kids' Camp is something that's near and dear to my heart. It's about giving a place for these molested or group-home kids and showing them love."

"They've never gotten presents before or they've never had someone tell them that God loves you. ... And to show them sympathy and that it's OK to be a kid and it's OK to smile and have fun, to give them a stuffed animal," he continued. "I wish I could talk more about the charities that I'm involved in and that we have so much opportunity in the end to make a difference out there."

Kellan: Ashley
Ashley: Jackson
Jackson: Ashley

Which member of the cast would you like to get drunk with?
Nikki: I don’t drink
Kellan: Jackson
Ashley: Jackson
Jackson: Rob Pattinson – we used to go to a bar and do open mikes together

Who would you go for a shoulder to cry on?
Nikki: Elizabeth Reaser
Kellan: Ashley
Ashley: My Eclipse co-star Bryce Dallas Howard
Jackson: Nikki

Who would you have a one night stand with?
Nikki: Elizabeth!
Kellan: Bella’s Mum (actress Sarah Clark)
Ashley: Can I say Jackson again? Although I don’t have one night stands!
Jackson: Elizabeth

Which is the gender cliché that you’re embarrassed to say you succumb to?
Nikki: I actually really enjoy putting on make-up, not because I think I look better, but I really like art and painting.
Kellan: Football, sport in general. Although I have a lot of female friends who are into football just as much as me, that’s why I love hanging out with the girls, they get so into it and that’s sexy to me.
Jackson: I can’t clean. I really can’t, I’m not very good at it, I’m actually a poor cleaner. My level of cleanliness is far below most, I wear the same pants every day, I get at least 2-3 wearings out of my socks. Not in a row – they sit in my dirty pile.
Ashley: My dog is spoilt, I buy him clothes. I love girl movies and girl wine. I definitely get very excited over clothes, like really excited.

What’s the gender cliché you go against?
Nikki: I like clothes if I’m handed them, I don’t like shopping. I get bored really easily, like having to go through things and looking through racks. I’d much rather eat than shop.
Kellan: I am the worst at packing. If I’m going to the beach, it’ll take me like an hour to pack my stuff like my towels, bathing suits and games.
Jackson: I’m not into sports. I used to play a lot of baseball as a kid but I’ve never followed it I was always much more into art.
Ashley: I’m a real college football girl and I like hockey games. They’re really brutal but I enjoy them. I was a tomboy when I was growing up, I climbed trees and stuff.

Which member of the cast would you get to cook dinner?
Nikki: Peter Facinelli
Kellan: Ashley
Ashley: Peter Facinelli – he always says he’s cooked too much and invites us round to eat it!
Jackson: Peter Facinelli

Who in the cast would you go to for relationship advice?
Kellan: Ashley Greene. We’re very close and it’s great to have someone especially as you work with them, just to talk to for advice.
Nikki: Elizabeth Reaser. She has a good head on her shoulders
Ashley: I ask Kellan a lot about guys because he’s honest with me and she’s new but Bryce Dallas Howard is really nurturing and kind of motherly.
Jackson: Peter Facinelli. He’s got a wife, kids, beautiful home. That’s gorgeous. Someday hopefully, I’m taking tips from him.

Which member of the cast would you get to style you?
Nikki: Kellan
Kellan: Alex Meraz, who plays one of the werewolves, has good style.
Ashley: Rachelle Lefevre, although Kristen and I have the same taste in jeans
Jackson: Ashley

Which of the New Moon cast would you choose to help in fight?
Nikki: Jackson
Kellan: None. I wouldn’t need the help in a fight!
Ashley: Kellan
Jackson: Nikki

Why is there one of Ashley & Jackson kissing? Not that I mind…

Thank you Team-Twilight!
