Tyson Houseman at The Crystal Ball 2010

So if you're following Tyson on Twitter @tysonhouseman you'll know he is trying to rally support for his local theatre's charity event...

According to what we found on Facebook:

The Varscona Theatre Alliance is thrilled to announce that our third annual Crystal Ball fundraiser will feature a special appearance by actor Tyson Houseman, best known for his appearance as Quil in the recent vampire blockbuster New Moon, and its eagerly awaited sequel Eclipse. A heartthrob in the making and a werewolf in training, Tyson will tell all to two uber-fans of the Twilight series, Varscona leading ladies Jocelyn Ahlf and Belinda Cornish. It’s all part of the fun at a riotous event in support of Shadow Theatre, Teatro La Quindicina, and major facility improvements planned for the Varscona Theatre.

The entertainment portion of evening will be hosted by Jeff Haslam and Sheri Somerville and the line-up of performers includes singers Kendra Connor, Andrew MacDonald Smith, Farren Timoteo, Rachel Bowron, and Shannon Blanchet, plus newly arrived Edmonton resident Patricia Zentilli! You’ll see a special sneak preview of Shadow Theatre’s imminent presentation Of Jocelyn Ahlf’s The Liars and there’ll also be a number from the upcoming Fringe musical Forget Me Not, written and performed by Andrea House and Chris Smith. Shannon Blanchet and Farren Timoteo will perform Stewart Lemoine’s classic playlet The Gauntlet and Members of Rapid Fire Theatre will also drop by with a demonstration of their always amusing improvisational artistry. AND there’ll be an informatively hilarious panel featuring the powers that drive the very engine of the Varscona Theatre, including the impishly imperious Euro-vixen Susanna Patchouli.

In addition to the entertainment, there’ll be great food- a smashing post-show buffet from The King and I plus libations galore, including a special cocktail and robustly delightful offerings from Amber’s Brewery. And if all that isn’t enough, there’s a also a SILENT AUCTION with an amazing array of offerings, including original artworks, wine and scotch tastings, spa sessions, restaurant and travel deals, and much, much more! The evening will be fraught with glamour and excitement, but it’s not a fancy dress event. That said, no one in a ballgown or a tux will be turned away.

The Crystal Ball 2010 is on Saturday, May 22 at 7 pm, at The Varscona Theatre 10329-83 Ave. Tickets are $75 with a charitable donation receipt for $50. To reserve your ticket please call Shadow Theatre at 780 434-5564.
