Surprise!

I have a new book coming out. It's called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. Well, it's more of a novella than an actual book—my version of a short story.

Actually, this has been a surprise to me, too. The reason why it's a surprise was that I never intended to publish this story as a stand-alone book. I began this story a long time ago—before Twilight was even released. Back then I was just editing Eclipse, and in the thick of my vampire world. I was thinking a lot about the newborns, imagining their side of the story, and one thing led to another. I started writing from Bree's perspective about those final days, and what it was like to be a newborn.

This story was something that I worked on off and on for a while, just for fun, in between the times I was writing or editing other Twilight novels. Later, when the concept for The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide came up, I thought that might be a good place for Bree. Her story is a nice complement to Eclipse; it explains a lot of the things that Bella never knew. So I dusted it off and finished it up for placement in the Guide.

At the same time, it came in handy for the Eclipse film. Melissa (Rosenberg, the screenwriter) had a ton of questions about what exactly was going on in Seattle, how Victoria managed things, what Riley was like, etc. I let her read what I had then, and later gave the whole thing to the director, David Slade. David asked if Xavier, Bryce, and Jodelle (Riley, Victoria, and Bree) could read it as well, so all the parties involved would end up having a really strong foundation for their characters before the cameras started rolling. I was pleased that this side of the story would make it into the film and was looking forward to including it in the Guide.

Then I got the news: my "short story" was nearly 200 pages long when typeset. It was too long to fit into the Guide—without ending up with a tome as heavy as the Oxford English Dictionary. My publisher approached me with the idea of releasing the Bree story on its own. One of the major benefits of this plan was that it would be out before the movie, so people would get to know Bree before they saw her in the film. That made sense to me, and we decided to go ahead with it.

There was one thing I asked for: since this story had always been an extra for me, and was meant to be released with the Guide, I wanted to be able to offer it to my fans for free. You all have bought a ton of my books, and I wanted to give you this story as a gift. My publisher was awesome and embraced this idea. We still wanted to also produce a physical book with a cool cover (see below) that you can add to your set if you like, but starting at noon on June 7th until July 5th, it will also be available online at www.breetanner.com.




One other aspect of this release is the plan to give a more important gift to people who really need it. One dollar of each book purchased in the US from the first printing will be donated to the American Red Cross for their relief efforts in Haiti and Chile and other parts of the world where people are in great need. We're going to have an option online as well, so you can choose to make a donation if you want when you read the story online. I hope you will. I think that we can really help a lot of people with this.

I really hope you all enjoy this story. I had a blast writing it. I'm glad that after all this time cooling her heels in my files, Bree finally gets her chance to shine.

This interview is great, thank you so much Kiva! You're the only one, that I can think of, that has actually asked for an interview with Lee…she needs to be heard by the world and interviews will help with that.

Like I've mentioned before, Lee is an amazing woman and she definately is independent. She's real all the way to her music and she has a huge heart.

The peanut butter addiction is understandable, but I think she has it worse than me…but the rock seen with Bella and Edward, I swear I did the same exact thing. Lol!

Australian musician (and fellow Twi-girl) Lee Safar is about as independent as they come. She writes, merchandises and markets her own brand of music and her inspirational brand known as ‘Dream Angel’.

“My songs are about who I am,” Safar said. “I write them as they are happening. The tough part is saying what is going on with you.”

A former Barista in her native OZ, Safar has an obsession with coffee. “The only decent coffee in Los Angeles is Intelligencia,” Safar said from her temporary home on the West Coast.

Safar is in the U.S. for the next few months, focusing on her music full time. Last week she opened for the band MuteMath before the New Orleans Vampire Baseball game to benefit Haiti.

Her three best friends made the trip to the states with Safar in the beginning of March but returned to Australia after the New Orleans gig. She said she will miss them terribly but is completely focused on her music.

“It (music) becomes something that is your focus,” she said. “You don’t need food or to breathe. There isn’t anything more real than being honest.”

The honesty in her music spoke to the Twilight fan base that got behind her song and video ‘I Am Here’, which nearly made it onto the New Moon soundtrack. Hope is not lost for fans of music from the Twilight Saga. Safar hopes to make it onto the soundtrack of one of the two remaining films (see interview below).

One of the most unique things about Lee is her desire to remain unsigned by a major label because “it would disconnect me from the intimacy I have with my fans.” Safar often tweets with her fans via @leesafar on Twitter and realizes that where she is and where she is headed are tied to her devoted fan base.

She is equally passionate about them. “I want that personal touch. They (the fans) give so much to me,” she said. “A label would take it away.”

By remaining an independent artist in the truest sense, Safar can keep the cost of her music down for her fans. “Fans can support my music by buying it,” she said. “I am a full time musician and if the fans go to buy my new single from my page that money comes to me and I can use that money to record a new album.”

Safar already has the next album written and wants to get the word out to her fans that all the revenues she receives from iTunes purchases of her music will go directly to making that album become a reality.

“They (fans) honor me by taking the time to listen to my songs,” Safar said. “I want to know what they think of the Dream Angel podcasts so I can keep doing them and give them what they want.” Safar took the time to talk about what inspires her, the “beauty” in Robert Pattinson’s voice when he sings and when she fell in love with Edward Cullen.

TTP: When did you get your start in the music business and when did you become a full time musician?

LS: I wrote my first song about 6 years ago and became a full time musician only just recently. This is a tough game. I am still in the process of growing both my brands globally- Music and my inspirational brand 'Dream Angel' and I am doing it as an independent artist so that I can make sure that both me and my fans are best looked after. That is very important to me- making sure that we're both happy. Making sure that I'm around for a long time means that we're going to have to start pushing sales....Merchandise from the website, song downloads from my website & iTunes, ticket sales to gigs etc....all this goes to recording more music and being able to keep paying my band!

TTP: How many trips have you made to the states?

LS: This will be my 4th to the states. I absolutely love America. The culture here supports my way of thinking more than in Australia. People really want you to do well and they want to support you however they can.

TTP: How did you get involved with New Moon and trying to get on that soundtrack?

LS: That story involves the very lovely Stuart Henshall, someone who is now a dear friend of mine. It's such a beautiful story. Stu and I were staying with mutual friends in an apartment in London. We started talking about what Stu was trying to achieve having just graduated from college in PR. He felt frustrated and confused about the way ahead. He wanted to make headway in his career but didn't know how. We started speaking about my journey in music and my quest to live my dreams. A conversation that felt like it went for half an hour went on for 4 hours. I gave him a copy of my debut EP "Who I've Become" to listen to. He went into his room and woke up the next morning, after having listened to my CD obsessively all night, and said, "OMG this is amazing. We need to have this heard by the world. I'm going to take you to see something today. Have you seen 'Twilight'? Your music belongs in this franchise."We went that day and saw the movie and I was immediately obsessed.

The next day, Stu got in contact with Emma Clark (AKA @nuttymadam)a very popular "Twilight" vlogger in the UK and told her about me. Stu was working very hard at getting the word out to the Twifans about my music. We posted a vlog telling everyone that we were really excited about having a chance at maybe getting on the soundtrack. Emma Clark saw the blog and posted it to her channel. In 24 hours it had about 4,000 hits. Stu started asking Twifans which song of mine they thought would fit "New Moon" the best. I had "I'm Here" in mind and it turns out that they did, too. A few weeks later I headed to L.A. and met my now-L.A.-attorney, Michael Golland who got things rolling with Summit! It truly is the Dream Angel process at work!

TTP: Have you submitted anything for the Eclipse soundtrack and have you heard anything?

LS: I'd love to have something on either Eclipse on Breaking Dawn however my preference would be Breaking Dawn! I have some great ideas for songs on Eclipse but I'm more excited about an idea I have for Breaking Dawn!

TTP: Who was your musical inspiration?

LS: There are a few and they come from loads of different genres. As a kid I listened to what my mum listened to which was a lot of pop music- James Taylor, Carol King, the Bee Gee's, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder etc....when I was at school I listened to a lot of Alanis Morissette, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Janet Jackson, PM Dawn, Arabic Music, and some totally cheesy pop that I'm not going to admit to in a million years!

TTP: What rocks your world right now? (music, movies, books, coffee ;) or peanut butter?

LS: TOTALLY PEANUT BUTTER!!! LOL you guys have the most interesting way of using it. My obsession with Peanut Butter isn't normal. It's kinda like blood is to Vampires- Once I have it I have to have soooooo much more!!!! LOL

Coffee is a big big deal to me because of how passionate I am about the coffee industry. I was lucky enough to live in a country that holds the profession of Barista in high regard and as such I was able to leave a corporate job to be follow my dream to be a highly skilled Barista. I have now left that world but my love and passion for it have not stopped. I intend on staying connected with the industry and do what I can to improve the profile of highly skilled barista's everywhere!

The music that is rocking my world right now is RnB & Hip Hop! Surprising I know, but recently 3 of my girlfriends from Sydney came with me to LA and we did a bunch of clubbing. The stuff that is out there at the moment is sick! Pushing so many boundaries with regards to the technology, and lyrically there are some boundaries being pushed also! LOVE IT!!!


TTP: I know we talked about it but I wanted to get it directly from you - when did you fall in love with Edward Cullen?

LS: OMG The moment he and Bella are up against the rocks is incredible.....DANG! I almost slide of my chair *blush

TTP: What do you think of Rob Pattinson's music and/or Kristen Stewart's performance in ‘The Runaways’ and singing on the soundtrack for the movie?

LS: I find Rob's music to be very raw and honest. I can hear a lot of vulnerability in it. He's not acting when he sings, you can hear how genuine he's being. It doesn't matter that he's not overly trained because the beauty in his voice is in the honesty of how he delivers the lyric. I haven't seen ‘The Runaways’ so I can't comment on Kristen's performance but I'm sure she did an amazing job.

Today I found out about this little angel close to my home town. Her name is Brynn Madeleine Lewis, she was born with a heart condition and as you can see, she is in a really bad position in life right now and needs your help. They are having a fundraiser for her on March 27TH at the first united Methodist church in Henderson, Texas.

The will be a hamburger lunch, raffle, and silent auction with entertainment from 11 am to 2 pm; a blood drive from 9am to 3pm.

Hi, my name is Brynn Madeleine Lewis. I was born on November 12th to the best parents a girl could have, Scott and Amy Lewis. I also have a wonderful family too, my big brother, Brady Lewis is awesome, he attends Wylie Elementary school in Henderson, TX. My grandparents are Sharon Reeves Collins, Judy Ann Lewis, and Johnny and Judy Lee Lewis.
God has blessed me with so many supportive friends and family and that is extra special at this time, because I have a big battle ahead of me. I was born with a congenital heart defect, and despite all the awesome efforts of my doctors, I need a heart transplant ASAP.
As you can imagine all the doctors bills, hospital, tests and procedures, can add up to a large amount of money, quickly. My mommy is not able to return to work, and is staying here with me, taking good care of me, with the help of all the terrific nurses and doctors. Once I receive my new heart, we will have to live in Dallas, close to the hospital for at least 3 months, so I can get the proper care and ensure everything goes well. If you would like to help me out in any way, I would forever be appreciative and thankful, and so would Mommy and Daddy, an account has been set up for me to collect any donation you would like to give. The Fred Meyer on Bothell Highway was like a beacon for twilighters Friday night, as the store hosted a 'New Moon' midnight DVD release party with special guest Melissa Rosenberg.

For those of you living outside of the 'Twilight' bubble, Rosenberg is the screenwriter for the popular series. She's so far adapted the three first books into movies, and is already working on the fourth and final installment: 'Breaking Dawn'.

We had a chance to talk to her about her journey:

How do you condense an 800-page book into a two hour movie?

MR: "Very carefully. You start with, and you end with, what is the emotional journey for these characters. That is the most important thing to capture, that is the only thing to capture. Everything else is up for grabs, but you must take these characters on the same emotional journey that they took in the book, and hence take the audience on the same emotional journey that they took in the book and that's the goal, you hope that you achieve that. some people would say I did, some people would say I don't."

Do you get any feedback from the fans when you, for example.. cut certain scenes?

MR: "I have a fan site, and the fans will weigh in and say wow! you've cut too many things out.. or say I've done a fantastic job. They are very kind on my site, there are other sites I know that I don't read, because I can't handle that kind of intensity. You can't make all the fans happy, you try to make as many as possible happy."


How is that going to be a challenge for the last one? ('Breaking Dawn') because as you know, that's the big one.

MR: "It's the big one, it's gonna be a big challenge, and I guarantee you that not all of the fans will be happy, and I guarantee you some of them will be.
You have to give up the ideal of making everybody happy, it's just not gonna happen, but you hope you make the majority happy. Again, for that last book it is about taking that specific character Bella on her journey. It's a big journey, it's a massive change for her, and you hope to realize that."

What did director Chris Weitz bring to 'New Moon' that you think was valuable to the series?
MR: "He was so good. He opened up the franchise. He opened it into this sweeping epic story. Twilight was a very intimate personal movie. it was a small movie, it had almost an independent feel to it. Chris made it into a beautiful spectacle, he really expanded it, expanded the world of it."

Going back to 'Breaking Dawn', how far along are you in the planning, with production coming up pretty soon?

MR: "It's coming up very soon, it's all deep into the discussions and working on the story, and figuring out what it's gonna be... we're deep in the middle of it."

Any word on when it will "officially" be green-lit?

MR: "I don't know, but obviously soon.. vampires aren't supposed to age, so you know."

Can you talk about the fan craze surrounding the main characters Bella and Edward, and how it's carried over to real life for these actors? How do they handle it?

MR: "I don't know how they handle it frankly, it's a lot to have coming at you, I can't even begin to imagine. I have a little bit coming at me and it's almost too much. Can't even fathom what it is like, I hope they get to have a semblance of a real life."

Finally, can you give me one word to describe 'Twilight' fans?

MR: "Passionate.. for sure."

If it's not bad enough to have a cardboard cut out of the man, they decide to make a wax figure of him and stick it on his favorite state in the US. That didn’t take long! The unveiling of Rob’s wax figure at New York City’s Madame Tussaud’s museum will take place on Thursday!

Thursday, March 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Madame Tussauds New York, 234 West 42nd St. (b/w 7th & 8th Aves.), Manhattan. After the unveiling, fans will be able to cozy up to R-Pattz’s figure for photos and even a hug. Once immortalized (in wax), the Twilight vampire and Remember Me star will join the likes of Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Leonardo DiCaprio – all of whom have wax figures in the famed Times Square wax attraction.

Rob’s wax figure will be wearing black pants and a fitted white shirt. Not just that, but also his signature beautiful locks, which you’re more than welcome to run your fingers through! The first 100 fans who arrive to see figure on Thursday will receive free Pattinson and Twi-hard gear, as well as free admission to the attraction.

I haven't done any research on this man, so I can't give much of an opinion. I'll see what I can find on him.

It's the same as New Moon was…you can't make everyone happy, it's impossible. I loved, literally, everything about New Moon. It's like Chris Weitz and Melissa took it directly out of my head as I was reading it, but there are still alot of people out there who just didn't care for it. One of my friends still doesn't care for, I think she's still majorly afflicted for not liking it, but that is her opinion.

I hope and pray that Melissa and whatever director they choice to use, can bring Renesmee and the who story to life like I pictured the way the did New Moon…even for those new, not so dedicated, fans.

Kristen would be the second Twilight star to grace the cover of Rolling Stone, the first being His Royal Hotness Taylor Lautner. Remember those steamy wet t-shirt photos of Taylor? Let’s hope we get something just as great from K-Stew!

In a press release from Summit Entertainment they confirm that New Moon made over 4 million dollars on its first day of DVD sales, beating out Twilight which made 3.8 million on the first day -

Los Angeles, CA March 23, 2010 – Summit Entertainment announced today that the home entertainment release of the studio’s action-packed, modern day vampire love story THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON sold just over 4 million DVD units in its first weekend of release. The tally surpasses the first weekend sales of TWILIGHT in 2009 which sold 3.8 million DVD units, and went on to be the top selling DVD title of the year with 9.2 million units sold. The DVD launch of NEW MOON commenced this past Saturday morning with 7,000 retail locations nationwide taking part in events at midnight giving fans their first chance to obtain a DVD of the film.Thousands of TWILIGHT fans across the nation participated in the “NEW MOON at Midnight” event and some were treated to surprise appearances by members of the cast as well as the film’s director. He will star as Poseidon alongside Mickey Rourke and Freida Pinto.


"Twilight" actor Kellan Lutz is the newest recruit in "War of the Gods," the upcoming Greek mythology epic from director Tarsem Singh ("The Fall").

Lutz has earned the role of Poseidon, the Greek god that rules over the seas, according to Variety. He joins an impressive cast list that includes Henry Cavill ("The Tudors") as the heroic Theseus, Mickey Rourke ("Iron Man 2") as the ruthless King Hyperion and Freida Pinto ("Slumdog Millionaire") as Phaedra, an oracle priestess.

"War of the Gods" is a swords-and-sandals epic centered on mortal soldiers caught in a war between the eternal Greek gods and the evil Titans, with the fate of mankind hanging in the balance. Production is scheduled to begin in April based on a screenplay written by Jason Keller.

Lutz is no stranger to fantasy fare, thanks to his beloved "Twilight" role of Emmett Cullen, one of the many foster siblings of Robert Pattinson's character. The actor was also a reported leading contender for the title role in director Marcus Nispel's "Conan," though he ultimately lost the part to Jason Momoa ("Stargate: Atlantis"). Lutz will next be seen in the upcoming "Nightmare on Elm Street" revival.

"War of the Gods" is the latest in a string of movies dealing with Greek mythology. Director Chris Columbus' "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" debuted in February to positive reviews and solid box-office success, while Louis Leterrier's "Clash of the Titans" remake will land in both regular and 3-D theaters on April 2.

Aww!!! My bff bria, who is madly in love with Kellan, sent this to me today. I cried reading it because he is so sweet and adorable...if any man on earth could be perfect, he's the closest thing to it. He's an angel in RL and he's a real Christian, as am I. It is such a relief to see an actor or actress as a Christian...after all the media says about them, it's like a weight has been lifted.

Sunday- The day I had been waiting for! Eek! First up was our picture with Kellan. I couldn’t believe the difference in Security from the days before! They had ropes setup at the end of the hall so you couldn’t get by unless you had a photop ticket. They had Latices’s setup so you couldn’t even look in the room if you walked by! Then someone came down the line and said that the actor had requested no hugs. Ha. He was totally cool and down to earth just like he was last year. He was definitely giving hugs so I asked if he would give me a hug as good as he did last year and he answered “Of course!! I’ve been Practicing!!” and squeezed me! He definitely knows how to treat his fans! There were just 2 bodyguards staring me down!! After that we got to get right back in line for our picture with Him AND Peter Facinelli! Yay! Then we got to sit there and listen to them talk for a good hour and 1/2 before we got to go to our lunch with them. Peter and I got to chat for a second about our similarity about having 3 girls which was cool and he was a total awesome guy!

One of the most awesome things about the weekend was learning what a devout Christian Kellan is. Its not something that you hear ANY of the media publishing which is really disappointing to me. He totally talked about how his favorite band last year was Skillet. And he hit on it again in the q&a this year by mentioning how his favorite music to listen to is Christian. And he just finished reading “Boundaries in Dating”. He encouraged everyone to read this and stated that its changed his life. When we got him alone at our table he was first asked about his “see through shirt” that he wore and he joked about how he forgets that in certain lights it appears sheer and he wore it to church a few weeks ago and people were saying stuff to his mom Then that brought up the subject of the book. He started telling us about reading boundaries in dating and how he has learned about really bringing God into his relationships and honesty and how he wished that he had learned this stuff a long time ago and he would have saved himself a lot of heartache. He talked about how he was missing church cus it was Sunday and all sorts of stuff. He was just really raw and real and it was really awesome! It has also made me realize how much the media tends to twist around things and makes me sad for these actors.

That’s right you’re reading those words correctly, we have an exciting TA Exclusive for you! Although we heard the heartbreaking news earlier this month that Muse was not going to make an appearance on the Eclipse soundtrack, it turns out that may have all changed.


TA has a reporter who has been covering events down at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas all week. Well today that reporter happened to find themselves in conversation with informed sources from Chop Shop/Atlantic Records. The source has confirmed that Muse will indeed be on the Eclipse soundtrack.
I guess it makes sense that this would be the place that the label and the band could come together. Both Muse and Chop Shop were at SXSW this weekend, so maybe they were able to come to some kind of terms to work together again on Eclipse. So unless more changes between now and when the soundtrack comes out, we can celebrate. All I know is I want to sing from the rooftops now! Having just seen them in concert (go if you can!), I don’t think I’ll ever get enough Muse. Now all we need is official confirmation from Muse and Summit on this one!

Glee actress Lea Michele, who plays Gleek Rachel Berry has said she wants the shows fan base to grow to match that of Twilght.
Michele told the Mir ror: “If we have fans like Twi light fans, then thank God, because those are some hard core, amaz ing fans.”
She added: “We were at the Teen Choice Awards, and they were scream ing for Robert Pat tin son, and i was just think ing, ‘I hope one day they scream for us like that.”
When asked if she got to meet R-Pattz, Lea said: “I walked past him. And yes, I did say hi. He’s very sweet, very hand some. I would love to meet a cue Eng lish boy. Any body with an accent.”

Robert Pattinson is still hard at work for his newest film endeavor, Bel Ami. I gotta say I'm LOVING the outfit. Rob's work in this movie could really bring him to the next level or keep him only as the sparkly vampire of choice. IMDB gives that plot as: a chronicle of a young man's rise to power in Paris via his manipulation of the city's most influential and wealthy women.

I would love to see this...I'm not sure if it's going to come out in theaters, but I'm thinking I'll ask the manager at my local theater if she can show it.

Maybe we should all try doing the same, I'll see what I can do and if anyone is allowed to play it and let you know what happens.

With so many female-driven films and strong roles at this year's fest, and in the spirit of the opening night film, we'll be profiling some of the most kick-ass females representing at SXSW this week. Next up: Skateland star Ashley Greene.

Like many of her cast mates, 23-year-old actress Ashley Greene has enjoyed a meteoric rise in popularity thanks to her involvement in the Twilight films, in which she plays the cheery, pixie-like vampire Alice Cullen. And, like many of her co-stars, Greene has taken advantage of her newfound celebrity to pursue non-Twilight projects between filming on New Moon, Eclipse, and the planned franchise finale, Breaking Dawn. One of those projects was Skateland, a Texas-set coming-of-age drama set at the beginning of the '80s, in which Greene plays the best friend to actor Shiloh Fernandez's lost protagonist, Ritchie Wheeler.

For Greene, the role of Michelle was a chance to stretch as an actor, to exercise muscles she hadn't been given the chance to explore in her pre-Twilight days. Fans who have only seen Greene as Bella Swan's perky BFF should enjoy watching her take the lead in Skateland, in which she's asked to riff with her male co-stars, express subtle emotional beats, and play out a tender love scene with Fernandez.

Cinematical spoke with Greene in Austin, where she was attending the SXSW premiere of Skateland.


Cinematical: Tell us about your character and how you became involved in Skateland.

Ashley Greene: I play a character named Michelle Burkham. You start out seeing her as a girl-next-door character, but as you watch the film you learn she has an edge to her. And that's what I really liked about her; she does have vulnerability and she's compassionate, but she's got a sass about her and she's a very strong character. Those are the qualities that drew me in about her. Throughout the film you see her as the best friend of Ritchie Wheeler, who the story centers on, and she becomes a love interest. She's the one that's there pushing him, saying 'You can be more,' and making him understand that he needs to believe in himself. And when Skateland closes, everyone's thrown into turmoil and forced to reevaluate themselves and Texas and their situations, and she's definitely one of them. She's one of the go-getters in the film, and I really liked that.

Cinematical: Skateland is set in a roller skating community in the '80s. How did you get into the vibe of that particular time and place?

Ashley Greene: I spoke to my mother a lot; I look so much like my mother in this, it's crazy. It was really fun. I definitely talked to her and asked her about it, because I was born in the later part of the '80s so I missed out on it. She was into the roller skating thing a little bit. But you know, my character doesn't really get to roller skate as much, that's more a Ritchie Wheeler-Shiloh Fernandez kind of thing, but it was fun to observe and be around. The thing about the character is, once you have the rollers in your hair and you have the hair and make-up on and the clothes, it really puts you in that place and you get to live in the '80s for a short period of time.

Cinematical: At what point between Twilight films did you make Skateland?

Ashley Greene: I made it directly after Twilight. After Twilight, I came right back to auditioning. Actually, Aquila/Wood Casting did Twilight and they cast me in this, so they were like my cheerleaders rooting for me.

Cinematical: You've also been working on a few additional films, outside of the Twilight world. What sort of projects were you looking for to do between films?

Ashley Greene: I adore Alice Cullen and doing Twilight, but because there are so many of these films you definitely want to give a taste of something else in between so [fans] still see you as Ashley Greene and not Alice Cullen. And so, during the breaks, that's what I was looking to do. Because Twilight keeps gaining more and more attention, and it's doing so well and we have this incredible fan base that doesn't stop, with each film that comes out I get more opportunities to pick and choose, which is really nice. Now I'm focused on showcasing what I can do and building longevity.

Cinematical: Tell us about The Apparition, your next foray into horror.

Ashley Greene: The Apparition is something I'm currently filming. We just got back from Germany this week, we were there for about two months filming at Babelsberg Studio and we start filming again in about a week in Los Angeles. The film actually takes place in L.A. which is the funny thing about this business, because we went to Germany to shoot it, we came back to shoot exteriors. It's a psychological thriller that centers around these two characters, Kelly and Ben, who are played by myself and Sebastian Stan. We play a couple who are haunted by a supernatural force and we have to figure out what this thing wants. I definitely learned a lot of things about myself while filming this... I read the script and loved it. I'm so passionate about this project and my producers and director and co-star, I've gone places as an actor I didn't know I could go. So I'm really excited for this one to come out.
Cinematical: What kind of scary places did you find yourself in during your performance?

Ashley Greene: I was terrified, and as far as just being vulnerable and sad and hurt, and strong... it's not a horror film; we want it to be elevated and scary along the lines of Poltergeist, so I definitely didn't want Kelly to be one of those scared, dumb girls in a horror movie. So we all worked together, it's been a huge collaboration in making these characters really smart.

Cinematical: There seems to be an emerging trend in horror films of filmmakers shying away from the so-called "torture porn" subgenre and towards what's called elevated horror.

Ashley Greene: Yes, that's exactly what we're doing. I look at a movie like The Strangers, and the scariest part about that movie is that these people do everything that you would have done and that you wanted them to do, and yet things still start happening. That's definitely along the lines of what we want to do, because that's the frightening part about it.

Cinematical: There is a sense that one of the easier ways for young actresses to make a name is to appear in mainstream horror films; is that something you've been mindful of, or are able to choose not to do because of the clout the Twilight films have given you?

Ashley Greene: Absolutely. I'm looking at The Apparation thinking, okay, this is a horror film; do I really want to go down that path? Because even though Twilight is certainly not a horror film, it is labeled a "vampire" film and it could be mistaken as such. So when I looked at this film, we had to read through it, and I spoke with the director and producers to see exactly how they wanted to go about the film. The fact that it's as far away from that mainstream horror film as you can get kind of relaxed me, because I wanted to be a part of it but I didn't want to be in a horror film, so it worked out. But yes, I certainly think Twilight has given me a lot of opportunities and it's put me in a position and enabled me to be able to say, no, I don't want to do that film, and I'm not going to do that, and I am going to do this. I'm in a very good position.

here is a break down the pros and cons of Sofia Coppola, Gus Van Sant and Bill Condon.

Though an official announcement that "Breaking Dawn" is coming to the big screen — and Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner along with it — has not yet been made, word has already broken that three Oscar-nominated directors have been approached for the job: Sofia Coppola ("Lost in Translation"), Gus Van Sant ("Milk") and Bill Condon ("Dreamgirls").
While Pattinson has already cast his vote for Van Sant, the director that seemed to most excite Stewart and co-star Dakota Fanning when we spoke with them Tuesday is Coppola. So which director would be the best fit for "Breaking Dawn"? Let's take a look.

Sofia Coppola
Pros: The director of "Lost in Translation" and "Marie Antoinette" has made a career out of exploring human alienation and the difficulty of one person meaningfully connecting with another — and the emotional beauty that occurs when such a connection is actually made. Looked at in a certain light, "Breaking Dawn" is all about alienation and connection: Bella's guilty feelings about how deeply Jacob loves her; Edward struggling to reconcile his love for Bella with what will keep her safe; Jacob's rage over his unrequited love and his eventual bond with Edward and Bella's child. It would be interesting to see Coppola weave a profound film out of these characters' twisty emotional allegiances.
Cons: We're not at all sure that profundity is what Summit Entertainment or "Twilight" fans want. We're doubly uncertain about how Coppola would handle the story's many action sequences. What's more, Coppola is also a writer and has scripted all of her feature films, including an adaptation of Jeffrey Eugenides' "The Virgin Suicides" and the upcoming Hollywood drama "Somewhere." Now that she's established her filmmaking cred and has three Oscar noms to her name, we doubt she'd give up such creative control and work with Stephenie Meyer's source material and Melissa Rosenberg's screenplay.

Gus Van Sant
Pros: The "Twilight" books are steeped in the misty, wooded environment of the Pacific Northwest. With films like 1989's "Drugstore Cowboy" to 2005's "Last Days," Van Sant has made the Northwest almost into a character — it's ambient noises as important as any line of dialogue. In terms of tracking the story's ever-changing dynamics between groups, family members and friends in "Breaking Dawn" and exploring its often transgressive teen sexuality, we think Van Sant would do a stellar job.
Cons: As is the case with Coppola, we can't exactly envision Van Sant — a two-time Oscar-nominee with highbrow tastes — taking on such a mainstream work of literature. For a guy who's been around as long as he has, a hefty paycheck hardly seems enough to convince Van Sant to veer off course and head to Forks, Washington.

Bill Condon
Pros: "Breaking Dawn" features a slew of horror-like elements — including a bloody, supernatural birth scene — and Condon has explored that genre before with "Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh." He has also dabbled in supernatural subject matter with "Gods and Monsters," a film about the real-life director of "Frankenstein." And then there's "Dreamgirls" — proof he can take established source material and churn out a visually stunning box-office success.
Cons: Will he be free? He's set to begin filming his Marlon Wayans-starring biopic about Richard Pryor in the fall. There's no word about when "Breaking Dawn" might begin filming, but will Condon be available?

Competitive pressures, coupled with the persistent nature of the economic downturn, have necessitated this action. Both of the scheduled 2010 TwiCon events have been cancelled as a result of today’s decision.

Ticketholders will receive a formal notice from TwiCon with instructions at the address listed in their ticket purchase information.

The staff at TwiCon worked very hard to make the events a success and TwiCon would like to thank everyone for their support. This decision was not an easy one and we apologize sincerely for the inconvenience. Becky Scoggins, a co-owner and manager of TwiCon Partners, LLC, will be on hand on the TwiCon ning site for the next several days to answer questions and concerns to the best of her ability.

So I just went to see “Remember Me”  but before the movie all the women  (including myself) went Bananas over the “Eclipse”trailer lol well I would have to say that Remember Me is a MUST see movie, it makes you think and puts things inperspective plus it takes you by surprise … a word of advise please taketissues.

According to CinemaBlend.com a 90 second full Eclipse trailer will be released tomorrow -

We’ve just learned it’s being released on Thursday, March 11th at 6:00AM PST / 9:00AM EST. The Eclipse trailer will really be more of a teaser. It’ll clock in at only 90 seconds long and, as for what it will contain, werewolves, vampires, and Bella looking at one of those two possibilities longingly is a sure bet.
But with the Twilight Flu being what it is, odds are you won’t want to wait till Thursday, so there will also be a teaser for the teaser released on Wednesday, March 10th. That’ll only be a 10 second long version of the 90 second teaser, long enough for Tyler Lautner to flex his muscles or something. That shows up in the morning at around 9AM PST.

Kellan Lutz appeared at the Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Fun Fearless Men 2010 party and chatted with MTV about Breaking Dawn in 3D.

“I heard they were talking about it. I don’t really care to see it in 3-D,” he told MTV News on the red carpet at Cosmopolitan magazine’s 2010 Fun Fearless Males party on Monday night in New York City.
Like Pattinson, Lutz isn’t a big fan of movies filmed in multiple dimensions. “3-D kind of hurts my eyes anyways. ‘Avatar’ was amazing in 3-D and in IMAX, but I don’t think I wanna see a little baby half-vampire in 3-D,” he said, echoing a similar sentiment made by Stewart. “There’s just some scenes I just wouldn’t want to see in 3-D.”
And with no formal announcement that more movies will be shot from the “Twilight Saga,” Lutz is in favor of breaking the book up into two flicks with “New Moon” helmer Chris Weitz back in the director’s chair, if the film should get the green light. “I’d love to see Chris Weitz come back,” he said late last year. “I just had so much fun shooting with him. I mean, obviously I would just love to do ['Breaking Dawn']. There’s no word. … Hopefully we get that phone call, and if they want to make it into five movies, I just don’t want it to end. I love my character so much.”

I'm so glad twicon came up with this. There is a group of friends and family coming with me and some of them don't want to spend all day at twicon, some just want to see parts...like the Q&A & get some photos. This way we can all stay happy and do our own things.
